Market Deeping has six pubs: The Deeping Stage, The Bull, The Square and The White Horse on or near Market Place and Church Street, The Vine Inn on Church Street, and the recently opened Riverside Pub & Grill on High Street.
Yes. Notty’s Cocktail and Wine Bar on High Street is a relaxed cocktail and wine bar with a changing food menu and a beer garden. It isn’t a traditional pub, so you won’t find real ale there, but it’s a good option if you’re after wine, cocktails or a more social evening out.
Deeping St James has four: The Waterton Arms on Church Street, the Bell near the bridge, The Walnut Tree on Horsegate, and Thirsty Giraffe, a specialist real-ale micropub on Manor Way.
Yes. The Red Lion on King Street is an independent freehouse serving seasonal pub food, with outdoor seating and a children’s play area.
Yes. The Goat, on Spalding Road in Frognall near Deeping St James, is a traditional pub dating back to 1647, with a real fire, a conservatory restaurant, a family room and a large garden with play areas. It reopened in May 2026 after a year’s closure.
Most pubs in the Deepings have a dedicated beer garden. Thirsty Giraffe, a real-ale micropub, does not have a beer garden, although it does have outdoor seating outside the premises. See the comparison table above for the full picture, and check with the pub directly for exact opening times if it’s a key part of your visit.
The Deeping Stage, The Waterton Arms, The Red Lion, Riverside Pub & Grill, The Goat and Notty’s Cocktail and Wine Bar all serve food. The Bull, The Vine Inn, The Square, The White Horse, Thirsty Giraffe, The Bell and The Walnut Tree do not currently serve food. For everything else, from fish and chips to curry, see our full guide to food and takeaways in the Deepings.
Thirsty Giraffe on Manor Way in Deeping St James is the only micropub in the area, specialising in a frequently changing choice of cask ales and a wide range of ciders. It doesn’t cook its own food, but customers may bring in orders from the adjacent takeaways.
The Deeping Stage is a hotel as well as a pub and restaurant, with rooms available in the centre of Market Deeping. See our full accommodation guide for details and availability.
Yes. Riverside Pub & Grill on Market Deeping High Street has recently opened, with local reports and its own exterior signage confirming it’s serving customers. Some details, including opening hours, its full menu and whether it takes bookings, aren’t published online yet, so it’s worth checking directly before a special trip.
Its signage advertises Indian and Chinese food, and early visitors have mentioned fried food and chips among the dishes served. A full menu hasn’t been published online yet.
The premises were previously home to the Iron Horse Ranch House.
